Such A Great Start

to my day and semester! This morning I found out that I got the internship that I was so excited to apply for. It is quite possibly the perfect internship for me -- it's at a literary agency in Hollywood in which I read manuscripts and books, write summaries and give opinions for possible TV and film production. I definitely jumped for joy when I found out.

And today is the first day of spring semester and I am so excited for my classes to start :]

San Diego and Las Vegas -- I guess America can be fun, too...

To be quite honest, California has been pretty uneventful compared to last semester in Berlin. This weekend put America back in the game when I visited Sally in San Diego on Thursday and went to Las Vegas on the weekend. Meeting Sally in San Diego might not measure up to meeting in Berlin, Paris, and Vienna - but seeing Sally never fails to disappoint me :)

I gotta say that celebrating my 21st in Las Vegas is the only way you really feel like you're 21. I will post some pictures and videos soon but let's just say that I got to share a little bit of Germany with my family and friends at the Hofbräuhaus in Las Vegas while I got spanked, beat a couple of people in a beer liter holding contest, and entered a beer chugging contest.

Touché, America.

Today I stumbled across two amazing pictures

and I instantly added two more destinations that I have to visit in my lifetime.

The Tree Tunnel in Kleven, Ukraine

Cherry Blossom Avenue in Bonn, Germany

First haircut in a year and a half.

Yup, that's right. My last haircut was in August 2010. I just kept putting it off and I meant to get it cut before I went to Berlin, but it never happened. And when I told the stylist that I wanted a healthy trim (however much that was), she told me that it was already healthy and that I didn't even really need it. Thank goodness for my healthy hair genes....

Its already 2012?

How did this happen? Its amazing how quickly time flies. I printed out a good portion of my pictures from the past semester and put them into multiple photo albums. It was incredible to see all the places I was able to visit in just a few photo albums. One of my goals is to eventually make a scrapbook of at least Berlin, but that will definitely take a long time to do.

Here are some pictures from my last couple of days in Berlin before I headed back to California.

The Sony Center all decorated for Christmas

I love the Lego Santa!

Berliner Dom - Protestant church on Museum Insel

I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. (Siehe ich bin bei euch alle tage bis an der welt ende)

And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith. (Unser glaube ist der sieg, der die welt ueberwunden hat)

Eerie crypt below the church

Dozens of coffins/caskets
The Berliner Dom was really cool to visit and I'm glad that I had a chance to climb up  to the top, where I got a spectacular view of the city. After that, I packed up all my stuff and headed to the airport. After a short flight to London, I boarded my 11 hour flight to LAX. Everything went according to plan and I got to watch 5 movies on the way home...which was nice considering I hadn't seen any movies in awhile! My plan was to not sleep on the flight home so that I would be exhausted by the time I got home. So much for plans! I could not have been more awake than I was when I got home. It took about a week for me to adjust to the time difference but I am still adjusting to being back in California. I don't start classes at Chapman until the end of January, so its nice to be on a break. And I found out that I am nearly done with the courses for my major AND minor. So what am I going to do? Pick up another minor.
